Portia and Sibylla
Writing fiction is odd.
Writing fiction with another author is also pretty odd.
Writing fiction with another author you've never met and have only communicated with via email as a fictional character is downright bizarre.
But that's what Lia did with Emma Salkild.
From December 2010 through January 2011, Lia and Emma collaborated to produce an epistolary novel as part of the Australian Literature Review's Epistolary Novel Partnership.
Portia and Sibylla charts the relationship via correspondence between a celebrity chef (Sibylla - written by Lia) and an enthusiastic teenage fan (Portia - written by Emma).
In addition to it being a great experience, the story also won the competition!
Curious? It's now been released as a free download.
